FungiNail

FungiNail claims on their product label to be a “pharmacist #1 recommended brand” but we have been unable to substantiate this claim. It’s a very strong formula using the highest concentration of Undecylenic Acid of any other product reviewed. In theory, this sounds like a positive but the high concentration may have adverse reactions for some users with more sensitive skin. We felt the product is definitely one of the best options for users as it contains more than double the concentration of Undecylenic acid compared to similar products. Please read the following breakdown of Fungi Nail, it’s pros and cons, and feel free to share any feedback you have regarding your experience with this product by taking our survey.

Consult with a medical doctor or physician if you have any concerns.

From Amazon

“The toenail on one of my big toes was all “ate up” with fungus, about three-quarters of the nail starting from the tip. I had tried topical antifungals before, to no avail. My doctor scared me away from taking the pills, so I ordered this product. I think my previous… didn’t work because I wasn’t trimming the nail back enough. Following the advice of one of the reviewers here, I cut the nail as far back as I could with a pair of serious toenail clippers, then went to the garage, got out my Dremel tool with a mini sanding drum, and sanded the toenail down to the nailbed. (That was an experience. Wear a dust mask.) I applied the solution every morning after my shower, and sometimes again at night before bed. I kept applying it, and kept trimming the nail back, and sanded occasionally, and eventually I saw results. It took almost a full year, but my big toenail is finally back and fungus free. (And I still have about a quarter of the bottle left.) So it works, but you have to be committed to the process.”

Curtis G.

“Product is great and arrived on time, but didnt come with ” bonus sprayer” like it said in the title.”

Ryan C.

“It works. It needs to be used regularly and for a long time, just like any fungicide. Even if nails are looking good, you have to continue using it because fungus is very difficult to eliminate.”

Fungi Nail is a popular Undecylenic Acid based product. It’s popular due to the unusually high concentration of the active ingredient; Undecylenic Acid, 25%. This is more than twice the concentration of similar products available.

Undecylenic Acid as an effective anti fungal ingredient on their monograph link 1. However, they suggest no more than 10% concentration. For this reason, you should pay particularly close attention for any adverse reaction when initially using this product as it may be more likely to cause irritation or other adverse reactions.

We are unable to find any studies suggesting that a higher concentration above 10% to be significantly more effective. The assumption is that the higher concentration will work harder to fight the fungal agents that cause nail discoloration.

Label indicates that “Anti-fungals work on contact to kill fungus but do not penetrate the nail”. This is noteworthy because other popular products often make the distinction that their product is designed to help penetrate the nail to deliver anti fungal agents to the source of the infection.

not helpful

I used this product for over the time recommended and saw absolutely no signs of improvement. Then I read the fine print and noticed that it was not for use on nail fungus...just for skin problems like athlete's foot. It did not help at all.

by Allison on Blank Business Name

I got this at the local drug store and have been using it faithfully for a month now. The skin around the nail is definitely clearing up but the nail still has a way to go.

Positive Experience

I continue to use this product and have had no issues. It's slow working like any other product out there but the price point is good.

FungiNail Solution

I'm 70 years "young".

I used this item once and once was enough.

After my morning shower, I dried my feet well and applied this solution to both big toes only. Within 10 or so minutes both toes felt like they were on fire, as if it had Red Hot Pepper in the product. My husband said, when he read the info, it did say the toes could feel hot. I read the box info and nothing is mentioned about the toes getting hot.

The very hot feeling eased up as the day progressed and eventually subsided (many, many hours later) but both big toes felt strange, even after I showered the following morning. In fact, both big toes felt strange for several days later too.

I always wear sandals throughout the Summer and had sandals on after using this product and the rest of that day.

I decided that this product is not for me. More money wasted, as I filed the bottle in the round basket (wastebasket).
