White toenail fungus, which medically termed as white superficial onychomycosis (WSO), is a form of fungal infection on nail. White toenail fungus has characteristics of fungi is localized at the surface of the back of the nail. This infection can be easily treated by cutting the infected nail, and then smeared with topical antifungal medications.
There are several varieties of white nail fungus. These infections are classified according to epidemiological, clinical symptoms and treatments. White types of nail fungus include classic form of WSO, mold WSO, WSO in children, and WSO in HIV patients.
How do doctors diagnose that you are exposed to white nail fungus? To make a diagnosis, doctors will find that there is an opaque, friable, superficial whitish spot on the nail plate. There are several kinds of cream for nail fungus, such as the 8% ciclopirox nail lacquer and 5% amorolfine nail lacquer. If no improvement after treatment for 6 months, the doctor will prescribe for you to take oral medications, such as lamisil (terbinafine) or sporanox (itraconazole). lamisil dose to 250 mg per day is, whereas the dose to 400 mg sporanox per day for one week each month.

All I did was dip a q-tip in the bleach and scrubbed the affected nails. Bam! problem solved! My way was a lot cheaper than anti fungal medications and quicker too.
